Pvt. John R. Brodgan of Co. A, 63rd Alabama Inf. CSA appears in my book "Too Little Too Late", He was reported to be paroled at Montgomery, AL on May 20, 1865. This was at the end of the war. He signed with his mark. Most of these men were 17 years old.There were a few which were 45 years old or older. His service record does not note his age. At one point in the fall of 1864 he was in a hospital in Montgomery. Wish I could help further. Art Green
