In the muster roll for Co. G, 34th AL Infantry, there is a listing for an Edmund Jones.

Can anyone identify him? I've long searched for a Daniel Edmond Jones who eventually settled in Macon Co. GA. Daniel Edmund Jones, CSA, born between 1815-1825, married Eugenia King, of Danielsville, Rhode Island, who was described as a "red-headed school teacher." They had seven children but only three were mentioned in article in Macon County Life by David Fowler - Ezekial, Beura, Leonard. Obviously, he would be rather old for combat service. I've had no success finding him in GA units. The Book "Broken Fortunes-SC soldiers, sailors & Citizens who died in the service of their country and state in the War for Southern Independence 1861-1865" by Randolph W. Kirkland, Jr. lists a number of men with surname Jones including Daniel Edmund Jones. I suspect he migrated from SC to Macon Co. GA....so it seems more likely he would join a unit from SC than one from AL (Co. G). He had seven children and one I know most about, Ezekial Jones, was born about 1840. The URL for detai!
ls on this Jones line is

If anyone can identify the Edmund Jones in Co. G to rule him out or rule him in as an ancestor, it would be most appreciated.
