MABRY TO RAY 1860

The State of Alabama
Tallapoosa County
Know all men by these presents that we, Joel Mabry and Elizabeth Mabry wife of
said Joel, for and in consideration of the love and natural affection we have
for our daughter, Mary Jane, wife of John C. Ray, and for the further sum of
five dollars to us in hand paid by Mary Jane Ray, the receipt whereof we do
hereby acknowledge, do give grant bargain sell and convey and confirm unto our
daughter aforesaid the following parcel of land commencing at the North East
Corner of S. E. ΒΌ of Section 12, Township (23) twenty three, of range (21)
Twenty one, in Tallapoosa County, Ala. Running forty rods due South thence two
hundred rods due west, thence forty rods due north, thence two hundred rods due
East, to the commencement corner being fifty acres more or less, to have and to
hold the afore granted land to her own use and benefit in fee simple forever
and we do covenant with the said Mary J. Ray her heirs and assigns that we are
lawfully seized and possessed of the above described and afore granted
premises; that they are free from all encumbrances, that we have a good right
to give, grant and sell the above named land to Mary Jane Ray, her heirs and
assigns, and we will warrant and defend the title to said land to her, her
heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof we have this day set our hands
and affixed our seals on the 17th day of Feby in the year of our Lord One
Thousand Eight Hundred and Sixty.
