I am afraid I do not know who his parents were. Nathaniel appears in the 1850 census of Wilcox County but he was said to have been included in an earlier census in another Alabama county with his mother listed as the head of the household. I have not been able to locate that reference. He owned land in Wilcox county. Nathaniel arrived in Hidalgo Co. Texas just before 1860 and died in 1865. He had sufficient money to purchase farm land in Texas and was instumental in establishing the first Methodist church there. I know little else about the man but I get the impression that he was an interesting guy.
