Subject: [AM-REV] Soldier's who fought at Kings Mountain?

Some years ago I visited the North Carolina State Archives and asked them if
they had a list of all
the men who fought at King's Mountain. I was told that those who were
unattached to groups were not, as a
general rule, listed any roster. The militia soldier
did what had to be done. Once the battle was over he
just went home.
It was a verbal tradition that Tirey Robertson (Robinson) fought at
King's Mountain and I wanted to prove or disprove this verbal story while I
was in
Raleigh. As of today it is still a verbal story. I am sure there are people
with more intimate knowledge
of that period than I on the net so I have to yield
to their superior intellect. Admittedly, when I was
in Raleigh I knew less than today about those of my
family who fought in North and South Carolina. It is
a learning experience.
