Its true, the US was NOT re-elected. Heres the link
to the UN Website and the 57th Session of the
Committee on Human Rights.

Next click on "newsroom", then click on "By Country"
to the left on the frame, then click on "U", then
"United States". The vote is on date 3/05/2001 and if
anyone wants to read why the US wasnt re-elected check
out the letter of the High Commisioner two posts down
on date 11/01/2001.
