This is a status report on our two mailing list archives. As you may
have noticed, the very much advertised 'Threaded Archives' which were
just started in February had by the middle of June collapsed due to
a miscalculation by the organizers as to the requirements of disk space.
(Seems we are not alone in the 'computer surprises' category), and
consequently, the last posting in the month of June is recorded as of
16 June 1999 at 20.30 P.M., Anything after is just not there, but we
have promises that this would be corrected in time. Just remember
when searching, there is at the moment a gap of over two weeks.
Now the July postings seem to be up to date, and hopefully we have no
other problems.
So, what to do about the missing postings?
Go to the other archive
http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl
type in amrev-hessians and when the query line comes up, type in
"17 jun 1999" if you want all postings of the 17 June, or type in
"29 june 1999" if you want the 29. June. "16 jun 1999" for the
16.June, and so on. Besides of course, type in any keyword like
messick and you get all of Ruth Messick's postings. Hi, Ruth!
Hope that helps finding your postings. I also hope that Rootsweb will
catch up with June in the Threaded Archives.
