Dear Ingrid, and dear Hessians;

A small correction seems to be in order -
General CUSTER, the one who died at Little Big Horn, does not descend
from a Hessian soldier named KUESTER, although his grandfather
John CUSTER, born 26.Feb.1782 married the daughter of a Hessian soldier
named Johannes VALENTIN, from the Waldeck Regiment. Her name was
Catherine Valentin, and she was born 10.Oct.1783 in Pennsylvania.

You find a short Ahnentafel in our mail list archives dated 9. Aug.2003, in
an e-mail by our subscriber K. Varden Leasa.
Hope that clears this issue,
John Merz,
signing off for a good week.
