Herb, Darlene has never admitted our lineage is "lost", in all the many

------------------------------------------------

Hello,

First, let me apologize to those of you who would rather not read this
stuff. However, since Mary Alice Anderson Farrell and Margaret Mabrey have
continued to create an issue with the Anderson DNA web site I think all of you
should know what is going on. I have been accused of taking Anderson information
that has been sent to me and not sharing any of it with all of you. I have
been accused of losing information. I have been accused of adding folks emails
to lineages that aren't in the that particular group or have anything to do
with that particular person. I have been accused of not helping folks who
contact me about Anderson research. And, believe me, the list goes on.

First, let me say that if you sent me your lineage it is not "LOST". I have
continued to update the web site (and yes some lineages are not posted yet)
and have sent you updates the last week or so of the information that has been
posted. However, if anyone would like to have their lineage posted please go
to -
_http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~andersondna/questionnaire.html_ (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~andersondna/questionnaire.html) -
submit the information and I will have the information posted in a day or
two.

If you are not a member of the Anderson DNA Project, you will not receive
emails about updates unless your email is posted on the member's accounts. I use
the FTDNA "group email" to send information about what's going on with the
Project, not to the Anderson-DNA mailing list. The Anderson DNA mailing list
is for anyone who does Anderson research and is interested in Anderson
genealogy and particularly about those families that are part of the DNA Project.
Anyone can join the Anderson DNA mailing list.

Several months ago, I began to update and change the Anderson DNA website.
Among other things, I had stopped posting the DYS #'s on the Anderson DNA web
site because of the time it took to update that part of the web site. Instead
you could read that information on the FTDNA web site. Some of you were
having problems pulling up that page and had to wait several minutes for the page
to load. In the meantime, we had a family crisis that is still ongoing and I
got a full time job and we moved to a new home. Updates to the Anderson DNA
web site were still ongoing but not as fast as they should have been. I am no
longer working full time and have began updating the web site on a regular
basis. I am continually going through stacks of papers to find the information
that needs to be placed on the Anderson DNA web site. Have I found it all
yet? No, but I'm working on it. Is anyone's information lost? No, information
is not lost. However, you may certainly resubmit your information if you want
it posted in a couple of days at
_http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~andersondna/questionnaire.html_
(http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~andersondna/questionnaire.html)

Also, FTDNA does not pay me to do the Anderson DNA web site. As some of you
will remember, when Herb and several others started the Anderson DNA Project,
Herb started the web site so that all of you could see the updates and
lineage information online. A lot of the FTDNA's DNA Surname Projects don't have
web sites at all. We have no financial stake in FTNDA and they do not pay us
to put web sites online. We do this all on a volunteer basis. I very much love
doing the Anderson DNA web site because the Anderson surname is one of my
primary research surnames. I have no intention of giving up what I love doing
and that is genealogy and creating web sites so that others might learn about
our heritage. But, I do have a "life" other than genealogy. If I have to
choose which is more important at a particular time I will choose my family over
updating the Anderson DNA web site every time. Does that mean the Anderson
site isn't going to be updated? Certainly not!

Below is an email that was sent to FTDNA by Mary Alice. And, as I explained
to Margaret Mabrey a couple of weeks ago, its not my style to say mean nasty
hateful things to people. This is genealogy - we all love doing what we do,
right? So why go there when we're all trying to find our ancestors and help
each other in the process.

Darlene and Leah -

Today, Cinda and I notice you have re-posted her brother's lineage and 2
others out of "Group 5" and corrected the term "Farthest Ancestor" to "Earliest
Ancestor", but 4 others in this group have missing lineage. Since the
corrections were made today, it is obviously the result of Cinda contacting you
after being informed all lineages in her Group 5 had been removed.

The term "Farthest Ancestor" is still substituted for "Earliest Ancestor" in
several other groups.

Just to see how many lineages were missing (the 2 in my group 9 are still
missing), I counted them; of the 189 members you say are now in this Anderson
Project, lineages are missing from 85 members!

It is hard to believe that 45% of the Andersons in this project failed to
give any lineage information to FTDNA. I KNOW you have had the lineages of
many, then removed it for some reason. It is very likely you have been given
the lineages on a large number of members, that you have failed to post at all.

Part of the purpose of joining this project, is to expect the available
information will be made known to us all. I have encouraged 4 Andersons to join
and have personally done lineage research for most of them, in order that it
be available.

Can you explain why you have not posted this information for so many
members? I know you have the information for my brother, have had it posted, but
removed for months now.

Please, Darlene or Leah, explain what is happening to Administration of this
project.

Mary Alice Anderson Farrell (kit #56732)

I apologize to the group as a whole for sending this through the Anderson
DNA mailing list, but felt it needed to be said. I also will continue to update
the Anderson DNA website and will notify DNA members of the progress. Again,
if anyone wishes to post their lineage so that its posted online in a couple
of days please go to
_http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~andersondna/questionnaire.html_
(http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~andersondna/questionnaire.html)

Thanks for "listening" and have a really nice Father's Day!

Darlene Anderson
