Hello Everyone,

My name is Marie and I administer this List.

I will send an email, from time to time, just to remind you of such things
on how to unsubscribe, if you need to whilst you are on holiday or busy with
other things, and also how to subscribe again afterwards.

We now have 43 members on the mailing list. A small List and on the most
part fairly quiet. Maybe you are all finding the information you are seeking
but it may be beneficial to other Listers if you shared that information.
My website introduces visitors to the STANNARD mailing list's existence. I
also promote this list in various areas of the Internet. When a member
sends registry information to this List I add it to my database, which will
be available for search requests in the future.

If some of you are having problems finding information, why not follow the
instructions below and have the queries added to Ancestral Echoes web site.

Answer with your most wanted ancestor and follow these guidelines:

1. In the subject line, after the words most wanted: fill in the SURNAME,
Given 18xx - 18xx [this being a birth-death date or use whatever date you
might have to narrow this family down.]

2. In the body of the message, give some known, basic details about this
person. Also, if you know they were in a specific area at a certain time
you could advise of this. If you have found them on a
census or in a directory, for example, you could state this. Or some
circumstance or perhaps occupation, anything that might help someone help
you or help someone recognize the person. Of course, a spouse, marriage
date, child, birth or death date, etc. would be helpful.

3. Most Wanteds will go on the Ancestral Echoes Website in the MOST WANTED
page. Be sure to include your name and your e-mail address for contact.
Unless you specifically request I omit your most wanted, I will include them
on the web page.

4. Do not ask about living persons.

5. This ancestor must have a connection to the STANNARD name and it must be
stated.

6. Only request 2 persons, no more. If you do request more than that, I
will be unable to add them to the website.

7. Do not submit any other surnames except those with an STANNARD
connection.

I look forward to hearing from you.

There are a number of things which we should all remember so as to allow the
list to run smoothly.

1Give your email an appropriate subject heading. If you do not show what
your query is about, some subscribers will not take time to open it.

2Please sign your emails with a name and place. It helps if readers know
where you are when replying to queries such as 'Where can I find...?'

3The list will not accept attachments. If you do, your email won't get
through as they are filtered out by Rootsweb.

4Messages and queries of general interest to STANNARD should be sent to
the list, but personal messages should be sent directly to the individual.
If you are replying to a request for a look-up, send your answer to the
list to avoid duplication.

5When replying, edit your email so as not to include copies of complete
emails. Edit them down to the relevant passage.

6Because of the filters applied by Rootsweb, you will not catch any viruses
through this List. Please do not clutter up the list with virus warnings,
many of which are hoaxes anyway.

7Although you should use lower case for the text of an email, it is a good
idea to use capitals for the surnames you are researching so that they can
be spotted easily. (STANNARD)
