Subject: [ANDERSON-L] MOORE/MORE-EARP connection delimma: Middle Tennessee: 1800-????
Date: Sun, 20 Jan 2002 11:21:34 -0600

I am looking to see if there is a connection to a Elias MOORE that is
living near Garrison Fork in, Coffee County Tennessee and a Nancy MOORE
EARP. Or who her parents are? Nancy was born around 1780 (census say
anywhere from foreign born, South Carolina and Georgia.

I have a bit of a delimma. I have just one reference to a my EARP family
that Nancy MOORE was the wife to a man at this time is known as
"Unknown" EARP. This is from a note written by an elder member of the
family that was writting only last names connected to the family.

There is a Nancy HARP and Nancy ARPE in the 1820 Lincoln County
Tennessee Census (have not been able to prove that this is her yet).
Then in the the 1830 she in I believe the 1830 Bedford County, Tennessee
Census She can be found in the 1840 Coffee County Tennessee Census
living with her daughter Nancy "Jane" ARNOLD and living next to her son
Jefferson ERP. In the 1850 Rutherford County, Tennessee census living
with her daughter and grandson ,William A. EARP. She is the 1850
Rutherford County, Tennessee Census as head of household with her
daughter and grandson, William A. In the 1860 Obion County, Tennessee
census she is living with her other Mariah ANDERSON with Mariah and some
of her children. Mariah was married to Levi Cooke ANDERSONS but he is
not living with them in Obion County, Tennessee (possibly seperated:
living back in Coffee County). Do not know where Nancy EARP went after
1860. Family lore says she moved on to the Saline and Lafayette Carroll
and Saline counties of Missouri.

Other MOORES mention were:
Alexander and Jean/Jane MOORE parents to Nancy DOUGLASS married William
"Colenel Billy" TODD
Samuel Anderson MOORE son of Elias MOORE and unknown

Middle Tennessee Counties: Rutherford, Coffee Bedford and Cannon Counties
Winfrey, Smothers, Fords, Starnes, Douglass, Fraziers, Whittemore,
Messick Guest/Guess, Painter, Norton, Dukes, Morgans, (other names
mentioned living in this area, Lawerences, Keele, Rayburn, McGills,
Burks, Todds and Ewells)

If you have heard any family lore (good or bad) on these EARP and MOORE
families or names connected to them I would really be interested in what
stories you have.

Any information would be appreciated. Spelling of names may vary. Thanks
in advance.

Jackie
