Greetings,
I sent for the Social Security application and death record for a Grant
James ANDERSON of Mount Union, Huntington County, Pennsylvania. He was
born in 1872 and died in 1968. I no longer believe that this is my
husband's grandfather who was also a Grant ANDERSON. If there is an
Anderson out there who is related to this man I would gladly let them
have the documents. Maybe we can compare notes.
The Grant ANDERSON I am looking for was from Rochester, Beaver County,
Pennsylvania. He married Ida May GAMBLE in 1904 in Beaver County. They
had 3 children: Donald (my husband's Dad), Hazel and Howard. This was a
very dysfunctional family and because my husband's parents divorced when
he was small, he never knew any of his Dad's side of the family. Grant
and Ida May (GAMBLE) ANDERSON also were divorced and it is said that she
had 2 or 3 more husbands.
The marriage record for Grant ANDERSON and Ida May GAMBLE that I
obtained is off an old film and very hard to read. I can make out that
Ida May's father was John GAMBLE from Parker's Landing, Armstrong
County, Pennsylvania. It appears that Grant ANDERSON'S mother's last
name was FARR, so she was either widowed or divorced. Can't make out the
first name, but this confirms a family rumor.
The ANDERSON family I am researching also had West Virginia connections.
Grant was a glass cutter or worked in a glass business of some kind. He
may have died about 1965 in Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia.
They 'say' he is buried in Beaver County, Pennsylvania?
Help!! I have too many Andersons, 2 Grants (who were about the same
age) and to top it off I have 2 locations of Huntington.
Is anybody out there able to connect with me?? Sorry I've been so long
winded.
Thanks,
Judith
