I am looking for information on my wife's great grand father:
JOHN HENRY ANDERSON b 18 Nov. 1864 (we believe in VA.) His parents, who came from Sweden, were married here in the United States. They died in a flu or pneumonia epidemic when he was about 10 years old. He was raised by a family named Morrow or Singleton. They never adopted him. The above information is mostly family legend.
He had at least two sisters;
Alice, who died young and
Em who lived to be very elderly.
His brothers:
Edward James Anderson born about 1860 married Mable Myrick then had two daughters,
Wanda Canelia born 1924 and Mona Ruth born 1926 both in Ellis Co., Texas.

Daniel Anderson born 1862 married Susie in 1894. They had two daughters: Lake born 1894
and Pearl born 1898 both in Ellis Co. Texas.
Both Ed and Dan were born in VA also and died in their early sixties.

John Henry married Ora Myrtle Core b 28 January 1874 in Lima, Ohio. They were married in Waxahachie, Texas 22 July 1892.
They had 10 children, eight girls and two boys:
Lillie May b 13 May, 1893 Ellis Co. Texas, m T. Jess Brown in Dunn, Tx. 13 May 1917, died 12 Nov. 1981 Colorado City, Texas.
MAGGIE (My Wife's grand mother) born 22 Oct. 1895 Crisp, Texas, married WALTER L. POPE at Loraine, Texas 03 Aug 1913, died 20 Dec. 1984 San Angelo, Texas.
Mamie Jane born 21 Jan. 1897, married Tommie E Adams Blythe Calif 24 Dec. 1918.
Manila born 13 Aug. 1898, married David M. Cairney Riverside, Calif. 12 April 1936.
Ora Myrtle born 28 Feb, 1901, married Dan B. Hall Snyder, Texas 19 May 1918
Lurabelle born 25 August 1902, married Harold DeCamp Blythe, Calif 24 Dec 1923.
Ruby born 18 Sept. 1904, married Charles A. Babb San Bernardino, Calif. 24 April 1924.
Horace A. born 9 Dec. 1906 Loraine, Texas, died 28 March 1993 Blythe, Calif. we believe he was never married, Horace said he was married to JoAnn????
Opal born 20 March 1909, married Earl Eiland Los Angeles, Calif. 3 Feb 1932, died 8 May 1981 Alhambra, Calif.
William Leroy born 14 Feb. 1911 died 9 March 1911.
I have a lot of history from John Henry forward but need information back. John Henry some times used the name "Singleton" as part of his name, we believe that may have been the name of the people that raised him after his parents died when he was about 10 years old.(could be his
mothers family).. The Anderson, Pope and Adams families migrated from Texas to the Palo Verde
Valley in Calif. In 1918.
