Hi List, I am sending the following thread to the Anderson list for
information purposes. It originated on the Milwaukee list, to which I
subscribe. Cliff Anderson
"Maxine
Indeed there were two Peter Anderson's in Milwaukee, both who were Lake
Captains. The Peter A. who is mentioned in the "History of Milwaukee,
Wisconsin" as being a deacon of the Scandinavian Evangelical Lutheran
Church is found in the 1900 Census residing at 403 Madison (south side
of Milwaukee) with his wife and mother-in-law, Nellie Thorson, amongst
others. This Peter died 4 Jul 1904.
As mentioned before, our Peter resided at 655 16th Street (north side of
Milwaukee) beginning in about 1898 after formerly residing in
Racine, WI and possibly in Michigan, where the youngest child was born
in 1894. Peter apparently retired from the sea in 1904 since he is
shown in the 1905 Milwaukee City Directory as being a watchman.
If anyone has questions about these two Capt. Peter Anderson's please
contact me. Cliff"
