Hi All,

I have spent about an hour or so, updating the Italian Genealogy Web Page
below.

Nothing grand, just a link to the ORLANDO Page

which holds info on the One Name Study and the Orlando List.

The Italian Genealogy Page now has a mention of the formation of a Society,
and asks those interested to join this list. I have also gathered a few web
pages and will place these on the following
http://www.dreamwater.net/anglersrest/Italianlinks.htm Nothing there yet!

This is NOT in place of the web page that Elaine has mentioned, this is more
of just an extension of this list, a kind of online notebook, that I can't
loose!, and that you can all access.

Carol, our list deputy has offered to put a message on screen, indicating
the developments of a web page and a Society and this will also appear on
Treetops News (Thanks Carol!).

I have felt for a long time that researching Anglo-Italian Ancestry can be
isolating, and with our plans that will soon change. It is important to
make the developments accessible to all, just to make people aware that we
are a new group, with enthusiasm, plans and the get up and go to get this
off the ground. On a more personal level, it is nice to be involved with a
group that has such enthusiasm for an area of their research, and that
reason, with some of you being outside of the UK, it is important to keep
things focused on the AI mailing list to involve, regardless of geography.

What has occurred to me is this. On several of my other lists I have had
Special Weeks on the Tree Tops Service
(http://freespace.virgin.net/tree.tops/), these Special Weeks have proved
Successful and it might be a idea to have one for Anglo-Italian. These
messages will go on Screen reaching those who do not have access to, or
knowledge of, this list and our plans and also of course to the subscribers
of Tree Tops News. It will give our plans some high profile and I am sure
will generate some support.

How it works.
Compose a message to include your postal & email address. (Carol removes
the postal address from Tree Tops News postings) and send to me at
marked AI WEEK.

Example:
One Name Study for name of ORLANDO, especially Sutera Sicily.
****Insert YOUR postal & Email address here****

As soon as we have 36 messages I can get them sent of to Carol, and you will
then receive an acknowledgment from Carol with the date of the Special week.

Anyway, enough rambling. Any comments on list please.
