Hi list members,

I am seeking any information on Philip Antone BORG 1839-1891, death in Birmingham. In the 1881 census he states he was born in Italy, marriage certificate shows father as Andrew Borg a coastguard.

The family story is that he was on his way to US, fell from the rigging of ship while in Liverpool and remained in UK to receive treatment, he married Jane Pickard in Kings Norton in 1868.
I realise Borg is a common name in Malta, not Italy, but has anyone come across Borg in Italy??
