Hi Carolyn

I thought I'd just warn you to be patient. Unfortunately you may have a much longer wait than 2 weeks. It seems to be a long term project researching using Italian films.

In New Zealand, films for Italian parishes can take several months to arrive when they are first requested. I waited about 3-4 months the first time I requested one for Villora, Varsi, Parma. The second time I requested the same film it was much quicker. I think the LDS must make a copy at Salt Lake City and then keep the copy in Australia when it is returned from NZ. I have now been waiting since February for a different parish. (I'm in Wellington)

I also discovered that it is possible to pay a little more and have the film on a 3 month loan if it is in a foreign language. If the records are hand written in Latin and Italian on waterstained parchment (and white on black) it can be very slow going. However it is also very rewarding if you find many generations and intermarriages between all the families in the parish.

I hope your film is easy to read when it comes and gives as much pleasure as the one I have worked through.
