My GG Grandfather was from Italy and came here in c1841. We know nothing about where he came from but

The story goes that 2 brothers came here (England) on their own, they were 12 & 10. We decended from the

younger brother John and the older one after a time was no longer heard of or mentioned. John came to live in

Huddesfield and then Dewsbury where he married and raised a family.



My question is how do I begin to find out where in Italy they came from. The surname Collomosse is not

Mentioned on any Italiian website and there are no records in the USA. I believe that the name was

Anglocised. I have no history and no other info.

How can I find out more
