Hi Everyone,

I would welcome some advice about genealogy software. I have been using the
shareware programme Gene for a few years and have always been happy with it.
Unfortunately, as far as I can detect, there is not yet a version for Mac
OSX and I have just bought a new iMac. Consequently I have two problems. One
is what programme to buy that is compatible with OSX and the other is how to
transfer the data from Gene (which is still on the old machine gathering
dust).

Would some kind person point me in the direction of a simple to use
programme without too many whistles and bells, and suggest a way of
transferring data that won¹t involve inputting thousands of names and
details again ­ I do have a life! I understand that it might not be
appropriate to advertise specific brands publicly so I am happy for those in
the know to email me direct.
