I do have Murray, Findlay, Muckart, Gillespie, Anderson, etc. family from
the Dun and Montrose area with one problem Alexander Murray (born 14 Feb
1819) married Margaret Findlay (born abt 1827) on 14 Jun 1846 in Montrose.
Margaret's birth date and parents are the problem. I am guessing but think
Margaret's father Alexander Findlay may have married twice 1) Agnes
Gillespie (christened in Dun but born in Benholm, Kincardine) and then
possibly 2) Helen Douglas. If anyone has easy access to the Dun or Montrose
1841 census, I wouldn't mind knowing who is with these people as that may
resolve this problem. Also, "Old" Montrose appears to be very close to Dun
and several of my relatives have christening entries in either Dun, Montrose
or both places in IGI. Does anyone know why? If you know anyone who knows
Dun or Montrose area and has heard of Boroufield, possibly a tenant farm,
(which existed between 1675 and 1733) I would appreciate knowing where it
is.
