I'm from the United States. My parents came from Scotland by way of Montreal, Canada. I gave the site everything except their blood type, and it still didn't find them. Ooops! Occasionally, mistakes and injustices are corrected down the road. I Love McCain. > Date: Mon, 1 Sep 2008 06:04:57 -0600> From: > To: > Subject: Re: [ANGUS] Canadian shipping> > Hi Jeff,> > Another Canadian here-:) Just a note of warning. Anyways I found a shortcut in terms of finding Canadian relatives who left the UK.> >> > http://www.findmypast.com>; >> > This site has transcribed ship lists leaving the Uk to other ports around the world. You do have to subscribe to it, but the cost is minimumal. For example if you search for ancestor and if you know the approximate year of they left - this site will tell you the ship they came over and then you can go to the site Bruce posted and search for the passenger list from the Canadian side. The only draw back is the passenger lists on the Canadian side aren't transcribed so you may have to go through the whole list to find your ancestor, but it's a bit of a shortcut I've found..> >> >> > Cheers> > Jeff> > > > -------------------------------> > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message> >> >> > > > > -------------------------------> To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
