Loretta - Ask ahead. asking questions is one of the best ways to learn
anything. Most us who are certified have learned on our own through years
of trial and error. Now that there is internet communication it is a great
way to get advise quickly. The other really useful aid has been to attend
every NGS and FGS conference possible. The lectures there are an invaluable
learning tool. I always come home with handsfuls of tapes of lectures I
wanted to attend and couldn't get to because of a conflict. Other tapes are
of lectures I attended and felt I would benefit from rehearing.
Also available at all the conferences is the wonderful lecture given by th
Board for Certification on the requirements for certification.
Good luck.
