I haven't received the message/spam that is making the rounds of the
professional people but I did receive a similar one. This was from a
couple in Arizona who are setting up a web site for things Scandinavian --
travel info, shopping sites, etc. They contacted me because
Norwegian-American research is my specialty and I had met them briefly at a
recent Norwegian stevne. They wanted to include my web site in their links
or, if I didn't have a web site, they would set up one for me -- for $$, of
course! They wanted a percentage of the research commissions I received
from their site. I'll admit that I don't know much about the workings of
the Internet, but I don't know how it can be determined that I received
work via their site. I'd be grateful if someone could explain this to me.
BTW I trashed their e-mail :-)
