I take exception to this comment -- We're saying that because we only have
2,000 at a conference, not 10,000, that we're failing. First of all, I hope
you're talking about the NGS/FGS conference, not the APG conference. We
barely have 1,200 members in the APG. Our attendance at the conferences is
at 10% of total membership which really isn't too bad compared to other
membership societies.

If we don't grow the industry by building public awareness of our society and
promote increased educational support for becoming professional genealogists,
this society will have trouble growing to 5,000 members (500 attendees).
There just aren't that many professionals out there, much less those that can
afford to be members, which is even more of a shame.
