No paper with sensitive information such as SSN's, Acc't numbers, or
other personal data leaves this household without first passing through
a desensitizing device located by my desk. It's known as a cross-cut
shredder that makes very fine, short confetti strips of that
information.

I get very paranoid about such information leaving here. I can't
eliminate all leaks from all places I do business with, but I can plug a
few holes. Even the telemarketers are getting brazen about getting
information. Here is an example that occurred just today:

Phone rings....
ME: Hello?
TM: Hi. Are you currently using any type of postage metering for
your mail?
ME: Why?
TM: Well, if you are, what company are you with right now?
ME: Why?
TM: We can offer you a great deal on....
ME: Not interested.
TM: Well, how much postage do you use each month.
ME: None of your business -- BYE!
Hang-up.

It's amazing how much information people will volunteer to total
strangers over the phone. But telemarketing is another sore spot that I
don't wish to get into. <grin>
