Subject: [APG] DNA testing and kinship

Don't underestimate the importance of DNA testing as a method of proving
kinship. It will become as important as record searching, especially
when a diligent search for records comes up empty.

In my own personal research I have hit a brick wall in two areas. In my
mother's father's family, I have been able to prove through records that
all Tartaskys living in the U.S. are related, except for my branch. A
simple DNA test of one of my mother's brothers and a male Tartasky from
one of the other branches would prove kinship.

Similarly, family tradition states that the Mokotows and the Mokotowskis
are related. My record searching seems to lean toward the contrary.
Again, DNA testing of myself and a male Mokotowski would clarify the
issue.
