Kathy -

Would you please send me some direct email with details about the version of
the Generations software you are using, your computer operating system,
printer model and driver revision number, etc.? The Generations version is
particulaly important as they have been addressing the problems that show up
with particular printers. Since you say you have been complaining about
this for about 18 months, you may still be using the Generations v5.2
software. If that is the case, the first thing you should do is to download
and apply the free v5.2 -> v6 patch file available on the Product Support
pages at the Generations web site. That fixed a number of these printout
problems, and more are fixed in the latest v8 release.

I've looked through my email address book and don't see your address in it,
so you may not have posted to the Generations email list or to the message
board. Don Weymouth and I are the co-moderators of the Generations
Discussion email list and of the Sierra Genealogy message board. We would
certainly like to get your printouts looking the way you wish <g>. (We're
both volunteers and not Sierra employees).

Unfortunately for all of us, the customer service department at Sierra is
handled by a completely different group than the Generatons software. It's
one of those somewhat short-sighted corporate decisions to have a
centralized customer service department for all software products in a large
company :-( They also have a pretty high turnover rate there, so it's ok
for generalized installation questions, but not very good for detailed
product-specific problems.

Regards, Mike Hobart
