Patricia Stamm asked (in part): <I guess what I'm asking is that
members who use a specific area book give me a recommendation for a good
basic book that the beginners could either
purchase or obtain through inter library loan.>
A good book for CT called "Connecting to Connecticut" by Betty Jean
Morrison, published by the Connecticut Society of Genealogist, PO Box
435, Glastonbury, CT 06033-0435. It is a thoroughly compiled reference
for every town in CT and includes addresses for town halls, what records
are available and at what dates, villages within the towns, and more.
It is concise and accurate. I highly recommend it!
