Cindy-

Just about all RootsWeb lists are archived and having the archived posts to
refer back to is a major part of the value of the lists.

To have a message YOU posted to a list removed from the archives start here:

To submit a request to remove messages you posted to a list from the threaded
archives, go to:
http://archiver.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/remove

A confirmation request will be sent to the author of the original message
(you).

To submit a request to remove messages from the Isearch archive, go to:
http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/removal/submit

Be sure to read all of the information on the above pages before requesting
removal.
