Hi, Susanna
I got a mailing from the International
Biographical Centre in Cambridge England a while
ago - the best that I can figure out, they get
names off the APG website, then send out their
ads. What they appear to me to be is a somewhat
updated version of those "county histories" etc.
which were so popular about a hundred years ago.
You pay an inflated sum, they print whatever
information you give them, and you can appear
'prestigious'. Not quite a full fledged scam, but
I don't believe that they offer anything that
anyone is likely to take seriously as
professional credentials. I don't remember
exactly how much they wanted, but believe
becoming certified is not much more in terms of
cost although of course it does involve quite a
bit more WORK.
All that's just my opinion, of
course.
Ray
