Subject: [APG] Computer crashed help needed

Hi:

I have a major problem and hope someone can walk me through it off-list. The
problem is with my personal computer which contains all my personal
genealogy -- 30 years of research. (Yes, I have a back up but the backup is
over 30 days old and it does not include my family photos.) It also contains
a lot of other stuff, like passwords, client files, etc.

hp pavillion 8160 233 mmx
purchased 8/1996
c:\8g hard drive
d:\8g hard drive
m:\cd rom

I tried to upgrade from win95 to win98. It wiped out all windows programs.
I can DOS to the files themselves and also soft boot, but can not copy my big
files such as PAF5 because it is too big to put on one floppy, needs 5
floppies--zipped! Also have a "book" project with photos as well as my
scanned family ancestor photos. I've managed to copy off my client files,
and some of the smaller stuff, but not the client photos, etc. It won't run
programs or I could back up to floppies. think it did wipe out my PAF5, but
the PAF3 is still there.

Recovery disk won't bring it back up. It don't recognize the cd drive, only
c and a.

HELPPPPPPPP.
