I've just e-mailed this question to Ancestry's support desk, but I thought
I'd ask it here, too, in case someone has the answer (the last time I tried
to get help from Ancestry for a problem, which had to do with Ancestry Views
not appearing right on the screen, they could't come up with the answer. I
finally figured out that my computer was not set to the resolution that
Ancestry Views wanted when someone at work had a similar problem with
something else and MIS diagnosed the problem).
I recently installed my PERSI 2000 CD-ROM (yes, I know it's old now, but
I've had a busy couple of years....). I was clicking through the 340 entries
that a search brought up, and my carpal tunnels started to hurt, so I went
to the help file to see if there were keyboard shortcuts. The help file did
indeed include these, but they opened in the little view screen. The screen
was too narrow to show the whole page, and all I could see was that, yes,
there are keyboard shortcuts, but I couldn't actually read them. There is no
horizontal scroll bar, and I could neither print nor edit/copy them so I
could look at them. How to I look at this?
I'm really good at figuring out working around printing-out problems, since
I deal with them regularly at with the students at the college library when
I work, and none of my work-arounds worked for this.
