Joyce and any others interested:

We have been quite successful in using a digital camera with microfilm and
fiche. You need to get to the brightest reader you can find and be sure to
de-activate your flash. Focus in on the image and take the picture. Use a
photo imaging software to lighten or darken as needed to enhance to
readability of the graphic. PhotoStudio 2.0 is a free download and works
well for this application. You can actually open several windows and compare
family information on different documents at the same time. Here is a link
for the free download-- http://www.arcsoft.com/downloads/PS20SE.exe

Good Luck,
Holly

Subject: [APG] Digital Cameras - microfilm

Dear Group,

Has anyone had any experience with taking digital
images of microfilm? Can anyone give me some advice
and tips on this subject? I'm about to review several
rolls of microfilm and feel that taking digital images of
what I need would be preferable to printing if I could get
clear enough images.

We have recently purchased one, so I am still in the
process of just learning how it works. Thanks for your
help.

Thanks,
Joyce
