Everyone should take a look at her Swamp Land sales summary at
http://www.arkansasresearch.com/dessland.html and then check the Library of Congress site for
similar sales in your state - "swamp lands" in the midwest and California! Fascinating era of
political land deals in the mid to late 1800s - a record resource that many folks may not know
about. Search on swamp land in the American Memory section of loc.gov
