Does anyone have any idea what the occupation shown for Susan, below, might be?

7th Ward, page no. 339 (on right); NA micropublication M653, roll 792, Book
1, image 339; index and image, <www.genealogy.com>. Dwelling no. 26, family
no. 76 (eight families in this dwelling). James Cusick [sic], 24, laborer,
born in Ireland; Nora _____, 21, born in Ireland; Susan _____, 18,
occupation: S. M. Op., born in Ireland.

I thought about Sister of Mercy something. I checked Kip Sperry's
abbreviations book.
