Barbara,
Those are my concerns as well. One suggestion I got was to send a PDF file.
That might take care of the concern about alterations.

My clients said it would aid her "to package and send to my cousins" if I
emailed her an electronic copy. So even if I trusted the client, the unknown
others and sons of others would not have the same sensibilities. I believe
that is a given in this world.
