I strongly agree with Elizabeth's comments over the last few days.

The genealogy programs do need a easy step by step way for entering sources
for genealogy records into a genealogy software package.

It would be nice that the source is identified whether it is a primary or
secondary source.

I have been including my sources in my notes section instead of the
source/reference section because not always does the information convert to
another genealogy software program.

I started using Personal Roots back in 1988/89 at aged 8 (now 24) which
didn't have a GEDCOM feature then switched to Family History System which
had little windows. Then Family Origins for DOS a year or so after that.

Over the years I have also used Family Tree Maker, Brothers Keeper,
Cumberland Family Tree, Generations, PAF, Roots Magic and also the Master
Genealogist.

I can't really say which one was the best overall because there was always
something that the other one didn't do.

The one that was very hard to use was the Master Genealogist. Overall was a
great program but it wasn't always user friendly.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks,
