An off-list discussion led to a request that this be
posted -
To streamline and try to keep things uniform, the word
processor was used to create a number of templates. The
template for the Client Report has three basic pages -
letterhead, letter page without company info and the
invoice page. The last two can be expanded as needed as
the WP carries it all over onto the extra pages.
Each page includes a HEADER and a FOOTER section. The
header has:
<Copyright 2005, Dee Dee King, genealogyfinder.com.
May not be reproduced or distributed in any form
without written permission from Dee Dee King."
The footer has:
<Source Citation:
"XXXXX Report", XDateX, 2005, Dee Dee King (address),
to XXXXClient (client address), page X>
In the footer, the word processor is "instructed" to
add the page number automatically. The invoice is
always the last page/s.
This might not be perfect "business correspondence
format", but it is simple to open the template each
time, "save as" with a new title for that client, enter
the new data, and make sure that my "protections" are
on each page and the client - and all those folks he
makes copies for anyway - has my source citation.
The header and footer print in a different font size
and style, and as long as there is plenty of white
space it really doesn't look bad.
