May I recommend looking for sources in the field of
anthropolgy - a field that depends on such
interviews...? A quick review of the latest
recommended text books gives:

Recording Oral History, Valerie Raleigh Yow, 1994.
amazon listing at:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0803955790/qid%3D986842672/sr%3D1-1/ref%3Dsc%5Fb%5F2/104-8028024-7500749

There also appears to be an Oral History Association
at Dickinson University and they may be a great
resource to contact in person. The following link is
to the part of their web site on ethics for such
projects.

Case Western Univ. has a web site on a similar project
involving Tibet:

I am sure there are more but I think Anthropology
Dept. would be a great resource on the topic.

All the best,
Kathy Flynn
