Between 1816 and 1829 Matthew Hogan is the grantor on at least thirteen
deeds in upstate New York. On ten of these deeds his wife, Mary, has
signed a release of dower. In two of the remaining three deeds the
grantees are his sons. The grantee on the final deed is Margaret
Hogan. I have yet to find any other information about Margaret. Does
this lack of a release indicate a family tie between Matthew and
Margaret?
