Subject: Requests to print a copy of your talk

[cross posted to GSG and APG; please excuse duplication]
How do you handle it when you give a talk for a group and they ask if
they can print a copy of your talk in their publication? I will be
giving a talk in early May (set up a couple of months ago), and the
person who set it up just asked if 1) they could videotape the talk, and
2) if the talk could be published in a publication of the society.
I asked what the purpose of videotaping was, and haven't gotten a reply
yet (for that matter, how do you handle requests to videotape?)
I said that I really didn't want to have my entire talk printed in the
publication, because I felt that would reduce its marketability (my
contact person sometimes gives talks, so I think she understands that),
and suggested that perhaps I could write a summary of the talk for the
publication. She seems agreeable to that, and said (which I had also
thought of) that my whole talk would really be too long for the publication.
So, back to the original question, for future reference, does anyone
have any good suggestions for handling the question of publishing the
text of ones talk?
Thanks
Christine
