Just received yesterday a copy of the following book for review .. which
I'll try to get to in a day or two. But at glance, I'd say all of us who
are researchers as well as writers would benefit from it....
Carmack, Sharon DeBartolo. "Carmack's Guide to Copyright & Contracts. A
Primer for Genealogists, Writers & Researchers" (Baltimore MD: Genealogical
Publishing Co., 2005). Paper, 119 pp., $15.95. A quick glance tells me
she addresses the current law and some very interesting areas of newspaper
obituaries, diaries, client reports, lecture/lesson materials, Fair Use &
Public Domain, etc. I'd say the book would be well worth a place in your
personal reference collection if you have any questions at all about
copyright.
