I have thought that might be a good idea, especially for stones not in a
stable cemetery (i.e. family plot in the woods as a city cemetery). I
would think a footnote is more appropriate. If you are using the
tombstone photographs then the GPS incorporated in the photo description
would be appropriate with the rest of the location information.
Or if you have many of them and doing something in a book form do a
listing in the back of all places with an in an appendix for those that
are using it for a reference will have them all in one place.
I did GPS for my thesis on architecture for buildings but I incorporated
the information in data sheets format with the "vitals" of the building.
