Godfrey Library Director Richard Black sent an e-mail to members last week telling us that the Godfrey's
current subscription to ProQuest's historic newspapers is up and that ProQuest is increasing the subscription
price by 1,500% over last year's price. I imagine we'll all be curious to see which organizations we're
members of will be able to afford the new price.

It appears the Heritage Quest has pulled most of the newspapers out of
Heritage as well. A friend just called since she could not find the Washington
Post and Godfrey staff told her the newspaper database had been pulled by
Heritage Quest. Also that the Census would be gone of Mar 31 not the previously
announced Dec 31. Bet they are going to set up a new paid service. Wondering
if they are pulling them from all the libraries?
