In DeKalb County, Georgia, "Brownings District (GMD 572)" was placed
entirely under "Cross Keys District (GMD 686)" in the LDS 1880
transcription, so that if someone was in Browning's District in 1880, they
show up as supposedly being in Cross Keys District. Browning's District is
ED 55 and Cross Keys and Shallowford Districts (together) are ED 46. You
will not find any mention of Browning's District in the LDS transcription
database. Also, for some strange reason, pages 1-11 of ED 46 are keyed under
"Shallowford and Cross Keys" and pages 12-33 are keyed under "Cross Keys."
Since Ancestry used the 1880 LDS data, Browning's District still is not
shown as a "township" in DeKalb County and the summary page for searches
shows Cross Keys District. However, with the images available, you can
clearly see what district you are on once you get to the image. Also, if you
click on the Cross Keys District link in DeKalb County, you see ED links for
both Cross Keys/Shallowford and for Browning's District, which is a good
thing.
I also have my suspicions that there are other mixups in the early Georgia
censuses (1820, 1830, 1840) but have not finished investigating them fully.
However, I have not found anything quite as bad as a whole county being
incorrectly keyed.

A huge problem I've run into with Ancestry's census records is that the
entire 1840 Hardy Co., Virginia enumeration has been indexed as Harrison
Co., Virginia. Even when you pull up the image of the pages, unless you are
familiar with Hardy Co. and recognize the name of the enumerator for the
page, there is now way of knowing that you are actually looking at a Hardy
Co. page.
