I don't see this as the same thing as someone using a CD at a live
presentation -- the CD is not being reproduced or sold. The reference you cited
stated the following about the coursepacks: "After the coursepacks are created
and sold, the clearance service collects royalties and distributes the payments
to the rights holders." That's a bit different from playing a CD at a live
gathering.
