Dear List: I am trying to locate the military discharge papers of my husband's great-uncle, Samuel D. Martin. He was born ca 1860 in Iowa and died 1944 in Spokane, Spokane County, Washington. I was told that the auditor's office recorded discharge papers, but in WA they are confidential. I am not sure what war he was in, but his funeral home recorded indicated he was getting a pension from the Disabled American Veterans. He would have been too young for the Civil War and too old for WWI. I am thinking he was in the Spanish American War, but I am not sure. In 1900, he was living in Oceana County, Michigan. In 1910, he was in Bonner County, Idaho. In 1920, he resided in Monroe, WA and in 1930+, he was in Spokane, WA. Any ideas?
