I thought this was interesting. As an Alabama resident & researcher, I
am aware of the 245 volumes published by the late Pauline Jones Gandrud.
In the foreword of "Alabama Records, Volume 86, Newspapers", published
by the Rev. Silas Emmett Lucas, Jr., Southern Historical Press, Lucas
writes "Her lifelong method of publication had been to type an original
and nine carbon copies [ouch!] of each of the 245 volumes, selling the
original at one price and the copies at a lower price. The result of
this method was that she was always far behind in getting particular
volumes to the potential customers who wanted these".
The "old days' were not always better.
