If you check this out, footnote is a subscription web site and the prices
are pretty steep for the amount information there, some of which is also
available on LDS microfilm. The indexes seem to be free, with the
subscription necessary to view the actual documents. The entire files will
not be freely available through the NARA site for five more years, although
you can view it at a NARA repository before then.

As long as the indexes do not require a subscription, the site can be quite
useful. The citations seem to be detailed enough for one to have the
originals pulled and copied when something is located. If these are records
one uses frequently, the subscription may be less than hiring someone to
pull a record.

A mixed blessing.
