Subject: [APG] Ordering vital records for clients
Date: Fri, 16 Feb 2007 08:58:52 -0700 (MST)

Hi all,

I have been brainstorming about how to "streamline" the method of
obtaining vital records from those government offices that require proof
of ID and permission from the client before you can order a record. Ive
been playing around with the idea of requiring that a new client send me a
copy of his/her driver's license and fill out and date a form that says
something like, "I, ________, authorize [genealogist] to obtain records of
my relatives in my behalf. Signed: _______, Dated: _______." If I were to
send those two documents plus a pedigree chart highlighting the client and
the ancestor in question, do you think a generic form like that would be
enough to satisfy these agencies?

Thanks, Jessica
